This dramatic Sapphire Bombe Cocktail Ring from Spectra Fine Jewelry, made in the 21st century, circa 2010s, is crafted in 18K white gold and features an out-of-this-world cushion shape sugar-loaf sapphire weighing approximately 43.22 carats. The sapphire is accompanied by report no. CS 1076215 dated 24 June 2016 from the America Gemological Laboratories (AGL) and by report no. GRS2014-028307 dated 14 February 2014 from Gemresearch Swisslab (GRS) stating that the natural corundum blue sapphire is of Sri Lanka (Ceylon) origin with the indication of thermal treatment. The center stone is surrounded by 52 bezel-set round diamonds weighing approximately 8 carats total arranged in a most unusual and striking halo.

At a perpendicular angle to the featured stone, sixteen groupings of 2, 3, and 4 diamond “strands” adorn the sides of the ring and part of the band. The abstract design is a true showstopper, exciting the mind to imagine a host of inspiring visuals, from the Roaring 20s to an evening at the cabaret, to Cleopatra’s headpiece and the pyramids. In fact, the cabochon sapphire looks like an Egyptian pyramid with four distinct triangular planes.
