Diamond 18 Karat Two-Tone Gold Bangle

An arpeggio is a group of notes played one after the other, up or down in pitch, where the musician plays the notes of a particular chord sequentially rather than all together. The lyrical lines of this bracelet are the sculptural embodiment of an arpeggio, outlining the harmony and create fluid lines in gold and diamonds. Crafted in 18K rose and white gold, hinged and with a push clasp on the opposite side, the beautiful bangle is set with round brilliant-cut diamonds equivalent to F-H colors and VS-SI clarity. The weight of the bracelet is 31.23 grams.

Made in the 21st century, circa 2019, the bangle bracelet has a rather timeless style, demonstrating elegant curves and superlative craftsmanship. The top of the bracelet features three simple parallel rows in 18K rose gold, set with pavé diamonds which subtly arc up and down. This lays the groundwork, so to speak, for a wonderful flourish of pavé diamonds set in 18K white gold to be overlayed. Owing to the two tones of gold, the diamonds take on different tones and look totally different from one another, making the most of a minimalist palette. Further, some of the round diamonds are prong-set within pointed oval shapes, making them appear like marquise-cut stones. This trompe l’oeil convention was popularly used in Art Deco jewelry of the 1920s and 1930s and was an effective optical illusion.

Two rows of marquise-like round diamonds curve in harmony with a single line of pave diamonds, while another line curves in the opposite direction. This flourish is reminiscent of wheat blown by a summer wind. Wheat is often called the staff of life and is symbolic of bounty. Whether it depicts wheat, a flower, or simply an abstract flourish, the featured detail is decidedly celebratory. The back of the bracelet is unadorned showing the beauty of the rose gold surface, but the inside has an openwork detail of linked pointed ovals, recalling the pattern on the front. Truly a lovely touch, reserved just for the wearer’s gaze.
