Contemporary French Nouveau Revival Diamond Ring

Art Nouveau can be described as an ornamental style of art that flourished between about 1890 and 1910 throughout Europe and the United States, characterized by its use of a long, sinuous, organic line. In architecture, interior design, illustration, and jewelry, graceful curves imitated forms found in nature and metaphorically symbolized freedom and release from the weight of artistic tradition and critical expectations. As such, the design of the ring becomes turban-like, winding around the finger and hugging it, with the three bands taking on the rich look of folds in the sumptuous fabric.

The ring is linear yet implies a voluminousness. Further, each curvilinear gold band is slightly domed. With its luxurious materials, the ring captures the essence of understated style and grace.
