Description

Experience the allure of Art Deco design with a contemporary twist in these stunning geometric emerald and diamond earrings created by Spectra Fine Jewelry in the 2010s. This exquisite pair, reminiscent of the Art Deco era, showcases two mesmerizing emerald-cut green emeralds, totaling approximately 23.44 carats. Accompanied by certificate numbers CS 65273 A & B from the American Gemological Laboratories (AGL) dated 19 December 2014, these emeralds are certified as natural beryl type emeralds of Colombian origin with minor to moderate clarity enhancement.

The emeralds take center stage, set with precision in 18K white gold double prongs and encircled by octagonal single halos adorned with square and trapezoidal diamonds. Round diamonds grace the sides of the mounting, adding a touch of brilliance, and collectively weighing around 2.02 carats.

The octagonal diamond halos not only highlight the geometric precision of the overall design but also evoke the quintessential Art Deco style. Utilizing cutting-edge techniques, the diamonds within the halos have been custom-cut into various geometric specialty shapes, ensuring a seamless and close-knit arrangement without the need for prongs, imparting an industrial aesthetic.

Art Deco jewelry, a product of the period between the First and Second World Wars, is characterized by its fascination with repeating and symmetrical geometric designs, often incorporating contrasting colors. These inspired earrings are a testament to this captivating style.

Emeralds, a gemstone that found favor in Art Deco jewelry, draw inspiration from ancient Egyptian motifs. The discovery of Tutankhamun's tomb in 1922 sparked a renewed interest in Egyptian art and culture, influencing Art Deco designers. True emeralds were highly prized in ancient Egypt, where the color green held sacred significance, symbolizing the fertility of the land. The emeralds used in these earrings hail from Colombia, renowned today as the premier source of the world's most exquisite emeralds. Colombian emeralds are cherished for their warm tone, intense pure green color, and mesmerizing depth. They are known for their exceptional clarity, a trait that enhances the value and rarity of any emerald.

Each earring is a work of art, measuring 0.7 x 0.9 inches (2 x 2.3 cm), and is crafted in 18K white gold with a weight of 22.32 grams. These earrings are a contemporary ode to the Art Deco era, exuding elegance and timeless beauty.
