Crivelli Loop Tiered Chandelier Drop Earrings

These playful Crivelli Diamond Pavé Drop Earrings, made in Italy in the 21st century, have qualities reminiscent of American sculptor Alexander Calder’s jewelry, mobiles, and stabiles. Like Calder’s sculptural art, the earrings have more to do with lightness, air, motion, and graceful formal relationships than solidity. Crafted in 18K yellow gold, the slightly asymmetric sculptural pair features three graduated nested openwork teardrops hammered flat(ish) with irregular curves that seem hand formed and held in place to float as a single unit.

The movement to this 2.25-inch-long (5.72 cm) drop is casual, carefree, economical, balanced, and connected by a single-point loop. Decorative yet functional elongated oval shapes fix the triple drops, each embellished with 4 pavé-set round brilliant cut diamonds of various sizes. The sparkle continues elegantly and simply up the earring wire in a tapering line of 9 additional pavé diamonds. The earrings are designed for pierced ears with comfortable and secure hinge closures.
